FAQ
Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. In general, therapists press, rub, and otherwise manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. They most often use their hands and fingers but may use their forearms and elbows.
Massage relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. Regular massage helps your general health and wellbeing.
Massage can improve the quality of your life in the following areas:
- Assists in stress management and relaxation.
- Pain relief for musculoskeletal injuries and tension headaches.
- Reduces anxiety and depression.
- Improves blood circulation.
- Increases joint mobility and flexibility.
- The release of endorphins and serotonin can prevent fibrosis or scar tissue, increase the flow of lymph, and improve sleep.
You will be asked some questions, sometimes may be required to do some movements to assess your current health condition. Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed. However, you should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session. Please communicate to the therapist if you feel uncomfortable.
A massage session usually takes 60-90 minutes. Most clients will normally have a full body massage. However, some clients preferred to have the massage therapist focus on targeted problem areas to relief the pains and tensions experience by the client at that visit. You should get up slowly from the bed and have plenty of water after the massage to flush the toxin out from your system. You might experience some soreness in the body for the next two days which is quite common. If you are uncertain about anything, please contact us immediately. Massage therapists will discuss your situation and schedule your next visit if needed.
